ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SHOOT: PANTONE POPPY RED AND LINEN {LOVE AT THE BEACH}

This Love, Watercolor at the Beach, Engagement shoot was inspired by Pantone Colors, Poppy Red 17-1664 and Linen 12-1008. When we paired the colors together the Linen made us think of sand and the location was born from the ecclectic venue at Hotel Maya in Long Beach. We mixed in wood tones that work perfect with the Red Poppy and Linen. Our “love at the beach” theme took off. The morning of the shoot the sun gods worshipped us and made the amazing photoʼs by Lauren Avila Photography just stunning! Her shots on the sand with the Long Beach shoreline in the background are magical and the sun washing over our dessert set up, with desserts provided by Simply Layered, is stunning. Romance Etc. provided just we had invisioned for the floral decor, the airplants and pops of flowers in the natural manzinita branches are perfect! Our couple, “Yes, they really are a couple.” are adorable together. Her ombre dress is a piece of art on itʼs own, looks like it was made for her and was perfect for our color palette. Her hair by Jamie from Thairapy Salon and make-up by Jolieke, Poppy Red lipstick and beautiful smile, flawless! The whole day was amazing, all of the vendors that participated really stepped up! Thank You Hotel Maya for the venue and all the the vendors that make what we love to do so much easier! This shoot made me realize why I love living in the L.B.C.

PRETTY IN PURPLE BABY SHOWER

One of our new friends, Lauren Avila of Lauren Avila Photography mentioned she was throwing a baby shower for her best friend, who is having a girl. We jumped at the chance to offer to help! She had picked the purple colors, made candy bar wrappers, a pennant, some pom pom’s and the shower was to be held at the beautiful home of her in-laws. We took our direction from the pieces she had and styled the dessert and candy tables, brought in Deborah Fay from Romance Etc to work her magic on the centerpieces and had a blast working with Lauren, her friends and family. We brought in grape gummy bears, blueberry jelly beans and huckleberry taffy. Simply Layered created the blueberry parfaits and champagne panna cotta. German chocolate cake, carrot cake cupcakes,red velvet cupcakes and lemon pie from Bake and Broil. We loved making the small cake pennant for the cake and had fun with the different patterns and rustic elegant theme! Photography by Lauren Avila Photography and Linens from Glow Concepts.

TOM AND AMANDA’S WEDDING, RUSTIC ELEGANCE, DIORAMA’S, DINOSAUR’S, AND TOUCHES OF TAXIDERMY AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM OF LOS ANGELES

Wow! Where do we start?  There  is so much to this wedding that we want you all to see.  We were so lucky to have coordinated their day and styled their dessert table. We thought we would post the dessert table first! Tom and Amanda are funky and hip with an underlying elegance  and they wanted the decor of their day to project the two of them.  The Natural History Museum was the perfect venue for their style choices and stunning ombre colors from navy to periwinkle.Lauren from Lauren Avila Photography captured the beauty of the day! Deborah from Romance Etc did the amazing floral design and added the finishing touches to the wedding cakes. My backdrop was already in play, how fun is the Gorilla  Diorama! We used our Confection Collections rustic elegance dessert stands, risers and plates lined with birch for the delicious desserts from Tender Greens, worked in wood tree stumps to showcase the wonderful ombre cakes from Vanilla Bake Shop. We covered the dessert labels in moss and insects and used the same font’s from their wedding invitations, added in some birds, butterflies and the taxidermy owls (love this), and a linen table drape from La Tavola Linens. Is that the best cake topper you have ever seen?
